It is no secret than I am a huge fan of anything rose gold so when I discovered the female counterpart to Hugo Boss’ signature The Scent, I knew I needed to get my hands on it….and believe me it really was love at first spray. Boss the Scent for Her Eau de Parfum, 100ml, £79.50
What captured my attention first was the gorgeous yet sophisticated packaging. The outer box was a stunning matte champagne colour with a striking gold embossed BOSS logo. The colour theme ran throughout the bottle too as the fragrance itself had a subtle champagne tint, making the bottle look rose gold in the light. Unlike traditional Hugo Boss bottles which are less ornate, you’d assume this one was a Chloe or Dior perfume based on the way the packaging exudes glamour and sophistication. I simply love the way this adorns my dressing table.
This scent definitely took me on a journey. No seriously…from a fresh and clean beginning, to feminine heart notes and finally to the darker and mysterious base notes – it is gorgeous throughout and leaves an unforgettable impression.
Starting with a strong burst of peach, there is a sudden twist on the typical clean white floral notes Boss tends to use with cocoa notes – not a hot chocolate version but cocoa in its pure form – so unique yet captivating! However, unless you love Paco Rabanne’s Black XS, you might not even recognize its cocoa but that is the best bit – its effective but not overpowering and definitely sets apart from the vanilla, wood and amber base.
It’s almost as if channeled a story of seduction through this perfume; starting with the subtle femininity of peach and freesia as the top note – this symbolizes attraction. This becomes more intense as the scent progresses combined with a note of the Chinese flower Osmanthus which radiates seduction. The scent has now transitioned from attraction into seduction, now finishing off as an addiction with the roasted coca base note.
In terms of longevity on the skin, because it is an eau de parfum, naturally it will last longer but this fragrance definitely was a pleasant surprise. When sprayed onto my skin it usually lasts an amazing 6 hours and even beyond that it becomes a light, warm scent – taking me from day to night effortlessly.
This is a bottle I would definitely pick from my vanity if I were heading out with my significant other or group of friends. Not only because it is super long lasting but it will unlock your seductive powers and you’ll receive a ton of compliments! Not to mention there is just something about this fragrance which leaves you feeling powerful and sultry…talk about magic!
